This past Sunday, Pastor J spoke on "No More Sitting, Get Up!" a reflection of the sermon spoken 37 years ago by our late founder, Bishop Dr. Obadiah Colander, entitled "Sitting at the Gate, waiting to die," taken from the passage in 2 Kings 7:3-9.
The message centered around the four men with leprosy who sat at the gate, hungry, and were about to die from starvation in Samaria. They had a choice they had to make...to stay there and die from starvation...OR, to "Get Up" and go to the campsite and risk the chance of dying from the Syrian army. They chose to give themselves a chance, and they arose and headed to the campsite.
As they approached the edge of the army's campsite, the Lord made a noise in the land of the Syrians army. They heard the sound of chariots and the host of a great approaching army. This caused the Syrian army to scatter and leave all their horses, donkeys, clothing, gold, silver, and food unguarded-God's provisions.
When the lepers arrived, they found all the food they could eat, along with horses, clothing, and even gold and silver. Look at God!!!
Laziness & Spiritual Stagnation have caused many believers to become content and complacent.
When you move, get out of your place of complacency, God will meet you where you are and open doors you never expected to be open or otherwise available. But it takes getting out of your comfort zone.
God called each saved person to go out and witness to the unbelievers. Fulfilling this commission from God requires "all hands on deck," and it requires each of us to activate our faith and move from our comfy seats to a place we are not always familiar with—a place where we put our trust in God.
Provided are a few points from Sunday's Sermon:
"Get Up", activate, and become Kingdom Workers and receive all that God has for you.
